How do you calculate the Hydraulic power, shaft power and motor power of a centrifugal pumps?
Inputs needed:
- Pump flow
- Pump suction lift and discharge head
- Fluid density
- Acceleration due to gravity
- Pump efficiency
- Motor efficiency
Hydraulic power,
Is also called useful power or water horsepower, is the actual power imparted to the fluid by the pump. It depends on three primary parameters:
-
Flow rate (Q) in m³/s
-
Total head (H) in meters
-
Fluid density (ρ) in kg/m³
-
Acceleration due to gravity (g = 9.81 m/s²)
